It is mentioned in the Malfoozaat of Hadhrat Moulana Maseehullah Khan Saheb Rahmatullahi Alayhi

No endeavour should be made to reform a jealous person:

Hazrat Maseehullah Rahmatullahi Alaihi mentioned that a junior becomes senior when seniors take him forward. Juniors can only become seniors by submitting to and working under the supervision of seniors. A junior who tries to become a senior on his own will not succeed.

Nowadays a common illness is that of searching for and publicising the faults of seniors in an effort to degrade them in the eyes of people.

This endeavor stems from jealousy, which has become widespread. A jealous person cannot accept anyone else gaining prominence – he sees himself to be the only prominent one. How can one who regards himself to be superior, regard anyone else to be prominent?

Such people cannot be reformed (through one’s efforts, as a general rule).

The saints have written that if one becomes aware of any person who has jealousy, then one should never endeavor to reform such a person, because he can never be reformed (through one’s efforts, as a general rule).

Consider how shaytaan became jealous of Hazrat Adam Alaihis Salaam. He observed that the one who was a child yesterday (Nabi Adam Alaihis Salaam was created very long after shaytaan), has progressed so much that he was commanded to prostate to him.

He refused to accept even though Allah Ta’ala explained the matters to him. This is the very disease of jealousy which is so widespread nowadays.

No trace of jealousy was to be found in our seniors, some examples have just been mentioned.
