Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar Radhiyallahu Anhuma narrated: Rasulullah ﷺ looked towards us and said, “O company of muhajirs, five things could involve you-and I seek refuge in Allah that they should:
- Wickedness will never be found in a people till they commit indecency openly. (If they do it then) a plague will afflict them as will drought such as never afflicted the predecessors.
- If they cheat in measure then they will be subjected to trials, calamity, famine, hardship and oppressive kings.
- If they cease to pay Zakaat then they will not get rain- and were no animals on land- then there never would be rain.
- If they break the covenant of Allah and of His Messenger ﷺ then Allah will caused them to be dominated an enemy who will not be one of their own and who will usurp some of what they possess.
- If they do not rule by Allah’s Book but change that which Allah then revealed then Allah will cause strife and fear among them.”
