Extracted from the Al-Haq Bulletin No.74:
The land of Shaam is the abode / headquarters of the Abdaal. The Abdaal are a class of Auliya belonging to a Secret Order of Auliya consisting of twelve classes. At the very top of the classes is the Chief known as Qutb. The identities of the Auliya of all these classes are a secret.
The Abdaal are 40 in number. Their number remains constant. When one of them dies, another from the immediate lower rank is promoted to take the position of the deceased one.
The Abdaal have been bestowed with great miraculous powers. They roam all over the world while Shaam is their headquarters. They are able to traverse continents in minutes. They cause wars and end wars. Allah Ta’alaa imposes a variety of duties on them.
They cause upheavals on earth; they assist whomever Allah Ta’alaa commands; they influence the operation of the courts of the kuffaar.; they kill and save at the command of Allah Ta’alaa.
Stating that they act only by the command of Allah Ta’alaa, Hadhrat Khidr Alaihis Salaam who also executes tasks which appear to be in conflict with Zaahiri Shariah, said to Nabi Musa (Alayhis Salaam): “I did not do this of my own accord.” (Suratul Kahf )
Since Nabi Moosa Alayhis Salaam had objected to the actions of Hadhrat Khidr ‘Alaihis Salaam which were in conflict with the Shariah, he (Khidr) clarified that he had executed whatever he had done by the command of Allah Ta’alaa.
The Abdaal with their miraculous powers are fully aware of the situation in the Land of Shaam. But they do not act to assist in domination and establishment of the Shariah. In all likelihood, some of them are responsible for the very upheavals which we and all Muslims are lamenting and being distressful.
Whether they are dormant or whether they are instrumental in all the anarchy prevailing in Shaam, it is all the Command and Decree of Allah Azza Wa Jall. Muslims should therefore never delete Allah Ta’alaa from the equations of life:
“Not a leaf drops (from a tree), but He is aware.”
Surah al-Anaam Verse 59
