BE MORE EFFICIENT WITH PRICE INCREASES

The fear is on the rise with the increase of petrol prices as well as oil and the list seems to be never ending. The time has come where we need to search for ways to capitalize on that which there is no doubt in. More specifically that which our Almighty Creator, Allah Ta’laa and our Noble Teacher Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم taught us.

There is a concept known as ‘barakah’, such a concept that goes against logic. However to get a brief understanding, it is such blessings whereby the means is little but the benefits are great. It is Allah Ta’laa alone who is capable of instilling the reality of this inconceivable concept in our livelihood.

The key to attain these blessings is to put a hundred percent conviction in the promises of Al-Muqeet المقيت ( The Nourisher) and ٍSayyiduna Rasoolu-Rawhati سيدنا رسول الراحة ( Our Master, The Messenger Of Comfort) and to eliminate the mind from all impurities such as subscribing to the western secular belief that ‘the fork and knife rules’.

A Way From The Many Ways Of Attaining Barakah

Hadhrat Jabir رضي الله عنه narrates that the Noble Messenger of Allah Ta’laa صلى الله عليه و سلم commanded the licking of the fingers and the plate (after eating) and he صلى الله عليه و سلم said, “You do not know in which portion of the food blessing lies” (Muslim)

A narration of Muslim has: “If a morsel of your food falls to the ground, pick it up, remove the dirt from it and eat it and do not leave it for shaytaan. Do not wipe your hand with a cloth until you lick your fingers because you do not know in which portion of your food blessing lies.”

This teaches us as well not to waste, it might be that little grain of rice that is being washed away under the tap and that is where all the blessings lie. This only occurs when one does not take care in licking the plate and fingers.

Application Of Logic Against The Teachings Of Our Honourable Teacher صلى الله عليه و سلم

Common practice in society is when logic fails then do not progress however this particular path of obedience towards Allah Ta’laa and His Rasool (Messenger) صلى الله عليه و سلم demands such a following which means going against logic then you will see blessings

Salamah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-Akwa رضي الله عنه narrates that a man ate food with his left hand in the presence of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم ,
so he صلى الله عليه و سلم said to him: “Eat with your right hand.”
He replied: “I cannot.”
He صلى الله عليه و سلم said: “Then you will not be able to.” Nothing but pride had prevented him from eating with his right hand. Consequently, he was never again able to raise his hand to his mouth. (Muslim)

This is a grave warning for the ‘above sunnah, superior minded’ and those who degrade the honourable teachings of Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم

To stress the importance of the above mentioned ahaadith, the great scholar, Imaam Nawawi رحمه الله has included it in his famous compilation Riyaadhus-Sawliheen under the chapter ” Upholding The Sunnah And Its Etiquette’s”
