RAIN ON LAYLATUL QADR

Question: Is there any evidence in the Hadith of rain being a sign of Laylatul-Qadr?

Answer: Yes there are narrations where it serves as a sign. Rasulullah said, “I have been shown the Night of “Qadr”, but have been made to forget its date, but it is in the odd nights of the last ten nights. I saw in my dream that I was prostrating in mud and water.”

The narration continues, “In those days the roof of the Masjid was made of branches of date-palm trees. At that time the sky was clear and no cloud was visible, but suddenly a cloud came and it rained. The Prophet (ﷺ) led us in the prayer and I saw the traces of mud on the forehead and on the nose of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ). So it was the confirmation of that dream.”

Bukhari 813

However one should not be oblivious and sit in relaxation mode now for the rest of Ramadhaan, there is still another odd night.

In a Saheeh Narration Rasulullah also said, “Search for laylatul qadr in the last night of Ramadhaan”
أخرجه ابن خزيمة

Allah Ta’alaa loves enthusiasm thus you should search for it. Searching for it does not mean becoming the weatherman, it means making ‘Ibaadah. Hadhrat Sheikhul Hadith, Moulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi ‘Alaihi whilst in i’tikaaf would start his ‘ibaadah after Maghrib whilst the rest would wait for the moon call to exit ‘itikaaf. His reasoning was if it is another night of Ramadhaan, why lose out? This shows us their passion to please Allah Ta’alaa and their value of every moment of Ramadhaan. They looked for every reason to engage more, we look to suffice with little luggage for the everlasting life to come! Allah Ta’alaa give us the passion and drive of His true friends! Aameen.

Look at this analogy below and then ponder:

A profound analogy

“If you were told that one of these keys opens a treasure chest filled with gold and jewels, would you try to guess which one is the right key, or would you take all of them to ensure you get the treasure?

Likewise, Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree) is hidden within the last ten nights of Ramadan. So, seize all of them to ensure you attain its blessings!”
