Sheikhul Hadith, Hadhrat Moulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi ‘Alaihi mentions on page 13 of Fadhaail-e-Durood,
“Allamah Sakhaawi Rahmatullahi ‘Alaihi mentions a rather awe-inspiring story. He quotes Ahmad Yamani Rahmatullahi ‘Alaihi who relates,
“Once when I was in San’aa I chanced to see a man around whom a large crowd of people gathered. I went to them and asked,
“What is the matter?”
Someone replied, “This man used to be an excellent reciter of the Qur’aan Shareef with a beautiful voice. Once when reciting the Qur’aan Majeed, he came to the verse of Surah Al-Ahzaab, Verse 56,
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ
“Surely Allah and His angels send salaat on the Nabi (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam)”
Instead he recited,
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى عَلِيِّ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ
Allah and His angels convey Salaat on Ali who is the Nabi
(The Shia displayed his utter kufr by doing exactly what the Christians are guilty of, elevating levels beyond what Allah Ta’alaa had decreed. The Shia elevated Sayyidina Ali Radhiyallahu ‘Anhu ranked no.4 after Ambiyaa Alaihimus Salaam to Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam who is ranked no.1 in the entire creation of Allah Ta’alaa). The moment he read that, he immediately became deaf, dumb and blind, was crippled, and was afflicted with leprosy. The incident gives us a lesson and a grave warning for all who insult Nabi Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam. We often find ourselves guilty of the unforgiveable crime that we do not care what we level against the honour of Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam. May Allah Ta’alaa save us from His anger.
