The Hadith that solves all differences directly from the mubarak lips of Nabi ﷺ:
Translation:
Al-Irbad ibn Sariyah رضي الله عنه narrates: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺdelivered a very profound and eloquent lecture to us which made our hearts tremble and our eyes shed tears.
We said: “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! This seems to be the admonition of a person bidding farewell, so advise us.’ He ﷺ said: “I advise you to constantly fear Allah and to listen and obey even if an Abyssinian slave were to rule over you. Whoever remains alive from among you (after me), will witness many disagreements, so you should hold on firmly to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided khulafa’. Hold on to it with your teeth.
Beware of introducing new things into the religion. Surely every innovation is misguidance” (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi)
Comment
The Messenger ﷺadvised that in times of differences and problems we should hold on to the Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ and the ways of the rightly guided Khalifa, Abū Bakr رضي الله عنه, ‘Umar رضي الله عنه، ‘Uthmãn رضي الله عنه and ‘Alī رضي الله عنه
It is not permissible to follow any other way other than that codified by the four Illustrious Imãms, Abu Hanīfah
These four schools of thought are based on the Qur’ãn, Sunnah and ways of the rightly guided khulafã’
The sad state of affairs that is currently prevailing is that we have grabbed on tightly to every other way than that which Nabi ﷺadvised. This is the reason for our destruction!
