Shaytaan did exactly that in securing his status amongst the Angels but Allah Ta’alaa exposed his true selfie colours. He was not a lover of Allah Ta’alaa. He was a lover of himself. Allah Ta’alaa save us from this evil quality. Today you say “LETS TAKE A SELFIE”. Look at the agent of the shayateen camp, Trump, trumpeting his self acclaimed authority. This quality is destructive. It causes humiliation in this world and evil is the punishment that is in store for him in the hereafter.
Some say but “scholars take selfies with their followers who are strange females”. Their action is proof of following Shaytaan not obeying Allah Ta’alaa. Thus once they have followed shaytaan, you should not jump on the bandwagon but rather distance yourself from such individuals as on the day of Qiyaamah you will beg them to rescue you from your plight but it will not assist you in the least!
Beware of this evil trait to selfie satanism! Allah Ta’alaa save us! Selfies breeds arrogance and pride. Pride does not only breed from haraam selfies, there are other avenues too in which pride is developed.
Rasullullah Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam said, “A person with a mustard seed of pride in his heart will not enter Jannah”
لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ مِنْ كِبْرٍ
Sunan Ibn Majah
Allah Ta’alaa says in Surah Ibrahim, Verse 21:
وَ بَرَزُوْا لِلّٰهِ جَمِیْعًا فَقَالَ الضُّعَفٰٓؤُا لِلَّذِیْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْۤا اِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّغْنُوْنَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ شَیْءٍ
قَالُوْا لَوْ هَدٰىنَا اللّٰهُ لَهَدَیْنٰكُمْ١ؕ سَوَآءٌ عَلَیْنَاۤ اَجَزِعْنَاۤ اَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِنْ مَّحِیْصٍ۠ ۧ
And all of them shall appear before Allah. Then, the weak shall say to the arrogant, “We were your followers. So, can you relieve us a little from Allah’s punishment?” They will say, “Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we deplore or endure, we have no way out.”
Shaytaan will also ditch you
Allah Ta’alaa says in the next verse (Surah Ibrahim, verse 22)
وَ قَالَ الشَّیْطٰنُ لَمَّا قُضِیَ الْاَمْرُ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ الْحَقِّ وَ وَعَدْتُّكُمْ فَاَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَ مَا كَانَ لِیَ عَلَیْكُمْ مِّنْ سُلْطٰنٍ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِیْ١ۚ فَلَا تَلُوْمُوْنِیْ وَ لُوْمُوْۤا اَنْفُسَكُمْ١ؕ مَاۤ اَنَا بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَ مَاۤ اَنْتُمْ بِمُصْرِخِیَّ١ؕ اِنِّیْ كَفَرْتُ بِمَاۤ اَشْرَكْتُمُوْنِ مِنْ قَبْلُ١ؕ اِنَّ الظّٰلِمِیْنَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌ
And the Satan will say when the matter will have been decided, “Allah promised you a truthful promise while I gave you a promise and did not fulfill it. And I had no authority over you, except that I invited you and you accepted my call. Hence, do not blame me, but blame your-selves. Neither I can come to your help, nor can you come to my help. I disown your associating me with Allah in the past. Surely, there is a painful punishment for the unjust.”
