Look at this scene and then consider two Hadith presented below:
We become over awed by this scene and boast whilst we sit still having discussions about what to do in Gazzah, Sudan and the Ummah are slaughtered and massacred in a state of hunger due to hundreds of days of no food. However, Masjidul Aqsa must be praised for not following the current bid’ah which never was changed until recently, the coming of MBS, which saw 20 Rakaats of Taraweeh reduced to 10 Rakaat. This was done despite Sheikh Sudais giving a top notch lecture on the first night of Ramadhaan 1446 calling on the Ummah to refrain from taking pictures and respect the sanctity of Haram. Also Sheikh Sudais called on upon the Ummah to grab on to the Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Al Khulafaa Ar-Rashideen which includes Sayyiduna Umar Radhiyallahu ‘anhu but how do they reconcile when Sayyiduna Umar Radhiyallahu ‘anhu’s implementation of the 20 rakaats was now formally practiced in congregation.
The theme question is, does numbers bare of quality hold any weight?
Hadith One:
Hadhrat Jubair bin Nufair Radhiyallahu Anhu narrates from Hadhrat Abu Ad-Darda Radhiyallahu Anhu who said:
“We were with the Prophet (ﷺ) when he raised his sight to the sky, then he said: ‘This is the time when knowledge is to be taken from the people, until what remains of it shall not amount to anything.”
So Ziyad bin Labid Al-Ansari Radhiyallahu Anhu asked: ‘How will it be taken from us while we recite the Qur’an. By Allah we recite it, and we make our women and children recite it?’
He (Hadhrat Abu Ad-Darda Radhiyallahu Anhu) said:
‘May you be bereaved of your mother O Ziyad! I used to consider you among the Fuqaha of the people of Al-Madinah. The Tawrah and Injil are with the Jews and Christians, but what do they avail of them?'”
Hadhrat Jubair Radhiyallhu Anhu said: “So I met ‘Ubadah bin As-Samit (Radhiyallahu Anhu) and said to him: ‘Have you not heard what your brother Abu Ad- Darda (Radhiyallahu Anhu) said?’ Then I informed him of what Abu Ad-Darda (Radhiyallahu Anhu) said.
He said: ‘Abu Ad-Darda (Radhiyallahu Anhu) spoke the truth.
If you wish, we shall narrate to you about the first knowledge to be removed from the people: “It is Khushu’, soon you will enter the congregational Masjid, but not see any man in it with Khushu’.”
(Tirmidhi)
Hadith Two:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish.
Someone asked: Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?
He (ﷺ) replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and last enervation into your hearts.
Someone asked: What is wahn?
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) replied: Love of the world and dislike of death.
