Imam Abu Dawood Rahimahullah and some people were once on board a ship. Another ship then passed by them. A man on the other ship sneezed and said Alhamdulillah. Imam Abu Dawood Rahimahullah could not manage to reply to his sneeze. So, he hired another small boat for one dirham and went to find the other ship. When he found it, he said YarhamukAllah to the man who had sneezed. When Imam Abu Dawood Rahimahullah came back to his own ship, the people asked him why he had gone so far to reply to the man.he replied, ” It is possible that the man may be one whose duas are answered by Allah.” Later, when the people went to sleep, they heard a voice saying, ” Abu Dawood bought Jannah from Allah Tabaaraka Wa Ta ‘aala for one Dirham.”
