Once Nabi ﷺ said to his uncle. Hadhrat Abbas (Radhiyallaho anho). ‘O Abbas my uncle! I want to make a special gift to you i.e to tell u something special, so that u act upon it Almighty ﷻ will forgive all your sins, whether old or new, intentional or unintentional, minor or major, open or secret. The action is to offer 4 rakaats of nafl salaah, and during each rakaat, after you have recited surah Faatiha, and one more surah, then you should say:
سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
Transliteration: Subhaanallahi Wal-Hamdulillahi Wa Laa Ilaha Illal-lahi wallahu Akbar
15 times while standing, then repeat 10 times when you are in ruku, 10 times when you rise from the ruku, 10 times in the first sajdah, 10 times when you rise from the first sajdah, 10 times in the second sajdah, then 10 times when you sit up after the second sajdah. The total in every rakaat comes to 75 times. If possible, you should offer this salaat once everyday, and if u cannot do it daily, then offer it on every Friday, or once a month, or once a year or at least once in your lifetime.’
This method and devotion of glorifying Allah Ta’laa in salaah is called Salaatut-Tasbeeh.
